Stock market basics class held every Saturday and Sunday at noon SLT in Parvenu Tower
Using rezzed prims to display stock charts and main points, SL’s Andy Evans, a former consultant to the Business Week Investor Education program, teaches the basics of stock investing. “We all want financial security in retirement, if not sooner,” Evan says. “A life-long investing plan is essential for this,” he adds. “Most people haven’t a clue how to do this. My class shows how easy it can be when you learn basic rules and practice them with feedback.”

Jnana: Programming for Non-Programmers
On Monday October 30 at 6 pm sl, Lex Lardner will do a program and demonstration on Jnana technology and what he is doing in second life with this amazing technology to help you make decisions in purchasing, selecting a book to read, and many other things.
We are also planning a variety of additional programs and events for Info Island, NMC Library, and Caledon. Contact Lorelei Junot if you have suggestions for programs or training you would enjoy.

[...] So off I went to Info Island, teleporting across the vast virtual landscape and landing upon a more natural looking island decorated with buildings whose construction seemed inspired by a menagerie of architectural styles. But these buildings were also inspired by real world counterparts. Greeting me here was the Second Life Library, the Second Life Medical Library & Consumer Health Information Library, Mystery Manor, a Science Center, etc… all dedicated to sharing content! But sadly it was also deserted. Which is what led me to end up on a virtual beach soaking up virtual sunshine. Now I know from the Info Island webpage that this is a happening place populated with interesting people offering classes, book clubs, discussion groups and all sorts of planned opportunities for Second Life residents. I guess I just missed them all on my first visit. [...]
