Grand Opening – Globe Theater on Renaissance Island
Globe Theatre Grand Opening, Renaissance Island (204, 45, 27).
Sunday, July 22, 2007
1 PM-6PM

The original Globe Theatre opened a few years back in the Autumn of 1599 in Southwark on the River Thames. Join our scholar and builder as they discuss the history of this remarkable Elizabethan theatre. There will be two discussions/Q & A sessions, fireworks, and a dance, too! Not to worry–William Prynne will not be reading from his loathsome Histriomastix against theatre and dancing. Do feel free to wear your favorite Renaissance/Tudor period attire! (Visitors will find free attire in the wecome center located at 69, 183, 150).

Here is the schedule:

1-2PM Shakespearean scholar Dolgoruky Umarov and Globe builder Charlene Trudeau will discuss the Theatre, followed by a Q & A Session.
2-5PM Globe(al) Dance Party with Firworks around 3.
5-6PM Dolgoruky and Charlene will repeat their earlier program

Mythica
Alliance Library System announces the opening of Mythica, a residential community on the Imagination Island sim. The area shares Imagination Island with Rachelville, well known for its Dragon Maze, Secret Garden and children’s literature collections.

Mythica consists of 14 rental parcels surrounding a pond, plaza and library building (Griffin’s Nest) which will house collections on myths, legends, fairy tales and fables. Parcels are available at reasonable rates and information on renting can be obtained by contacting BrianA Corleone inworld. Green colored cones over residences still available to rent list land size and prims available on each parcel. Cottages on the land can be used or replaced with approved dwellings that reflect the rural surroundings. One parchel’s residence is solely a skybox and skyboxes are allowed for other parcels at prescribed heights above the dwelling below.

The rustic setting of Mythica along with the charm of neighboring Rachelville make this an ideal place for rest, relaxation and the development of a creative spirit within the SL Libraries community. Imagination Island is located south of ALA Arts Island and southwest of Cybrary City 2. A slurl is provided here to the plaza:

I checked out the island and it looked great! It could use some work on the north side though.
