Meet the artist!

MASHUP ISLANDER / Christopher Dodds is a designer and real-time 3D SL artist. He is undertaking a Masters at RMIT University where his research investigates virtual worlds, art and surveillance. His interest in the virtualisation of art has lead to the formation of The Australian Centre of Virtual Art (ACVA) - an upcoming Second Life gallery complex and archive. Christopher, Adam Nash and Justin Clemens recently won The Australia Council’s inaugural SL Artists in Residence grant. Their interactive installation, Babelswarm, will be launched at ACVA in February 2008. He is a director of Icon.Inc, a design and interactive studio based in Melbourne, and editor at the

SCIENCE FICTION/FANTASY PORTAL
The Sci-Fi & Fantasy Portal is moving it’s events from Tuesdays to Wednesdays.

2nd. week of each month — Wednesday Portal Meeting at 12 noon (SL time)

4th. week of each month — Wednesday Portal Meeting at 6:30 pm (SL time)

3rd. week of each month — Wednesday Book of the Month Discussion 6:30 pm (SL time)

also 3rd. week of each month — the Saturday following the Wed. discussion 12 noon

We welcome people who’ve read one or several books by a given author. We also welcome people who havent but are curious about an author, novel, or series. For more information, contact Franja Russell.
