Native American Research in the US National Archives - Krag Mariner (Craig Scott President and CEO of Heritage Books) will do a voice presentation on using the National Archives to research Native American genealogy.
Wednesday, May 28th @ 6 PM SLT - Party at the Genealogy Research Center - Come as your favorite ancestor. Do you have a pirate, a king, a prisoner, a suffragette, a pioneer, or politician in your family tree? No matter what their social status let’s pay tribute to the onces that came before us! Dress your AV up in their clothes, create a short bio for your profile and let’s socialize! Please join us for an evening of music, dancing, and stimulating conversation!

Book Discussion at Mystery Manor
When: 28 May (Wednesday)

Where: Gazebo at Mystery Manor
Maxito Ricardo will lead a discussion of Hard Time by Sara Paretsky. Paretsky’s character, V.I. Warshawski, is a detective from the hardboiled school and with her “Paretsky is credited with transforming the role and image of women in the crime novel.” (Wikipedia). It isn’t hard to imagine Warshawski holding her own in the company of Philip Marlow, Lew Archer, and Sam Spade. The cases that V.I. (Vic to her friends) takes on involve social issues and in Hard Time she learns about the prison system close up and personal. Contact Maxito Ricardo or Max Batra for more information.
Investing InfoIsland
Investing InfoIsland opens on Sunday June 1 at 3 pm sl with a welcome by funders American Library Association and FINRA. Following a welcome and
a tour of the island, there will be a sock hop. Throughout the next year, Investing InfoIsland will be programs and activities on investing, targeting baby boomers.
The purpose of the project is to promote the library as a good unbiased source of investing information. For more information, contact Lorelei Junot.
